AdAvoid DNS Policy
Acceptable Use Policy
Rules that protect the AdAvoid DNS resolver from abuse and reliability threats.
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Prohibited Activity
- No DNS amplification, reflection, denial-of-service traffic, or attempts to overload the service.
- No probing, scanning, or automated traffic that harms reliability.
- No attempts to bypass rate limits or operational mitigations.
- No use of the service to operate or support malware, phishing, botnets, credential theft, fraud, child sexual abuse material, or other harmful activity.
Protective Actions
AdAvoid may apply rate limits, firewall rules, endpoint restrictions, resolver-level mitigations, or blocks when traffic threatens service reliability, service integrity, or other users.
Abuse Investigations
Abuse handling may involve temporary local debug logs under the Privacy Policy debug exception. These logs must be tied to a specific investigation, minimized, access-restricted, and deleted within seven days.
Reporting Abuse
Abuse reports should include the observed endpoint, time range, source or destination indicators when available, a description of the behavior, and a contact address for follow-up.
