Privacy Policy

AdAvoid DNS is a free public DNS resolver. In normal operation, AdAvoid DNS does not keep user-identifying DNS query logs in normal operation, does not create per-user browsing profiles, and does not sell DNS data.

The service has no user accounts, no dashboard, and no per-device profiles in this version. Because of that, AdAvoid DNS does not have a normal way to connect historical DNS activity to a specific person.

When your device sends a DNS query, the resolver temporarily receives the information needed to answer that query, including the queried domain name and the network address required to return the response. This information is used to resolve or block the query and is not retained as a user-identifying browsing-history log in normal operation.

AdAvoid may collect infrastructure and service-health metrics such as CPU usage, memory usage, disk usage, network throughput, container health, uptime, filter update status, and aggregate resolver health.

• Operational metrics must not be used to build browsing histories.
• Operational metrics must not contain retained client IP plus query-name pairs.
• Operational metrics must not be sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

Temporary local debug logs may be enabled only for a specific operational incident, abuse investigation, outage, or filtering investigation. These logs must be minimized, access-restricted, kept local to the operational environment, disabled when no longer needed, and deleted within seven days.

The AdAvoid DNS website may generate standard hosting logs through the website hosting provider. Website logs are separate from DNS resolver logs and are used for security, reliability, and delivery of the website.

• AdAvoid DNS does not sell DNS query data.
• AdAvoid DNS does not use DNS query data for ad targeting.
• AdAvoid DNS does not share user-identifying DNS browsing history with third parties.

Privacy, data-rights, and policy questions should be sent through the monitored AdAvoid contact channel published on the main AdAvoid website. Dedicated privacy, legal, or abuse mailboxes should only be published after the business owner confirms they are monitored.
